WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT

“Stress is a fact of life, wherever you are and whatever you are doing. You cannot avoid stress, but you can learn to manage it so it doesn’t manage you”. The two-hour session for two days began with light exercise and some music for the participants. It helped the students to relax and concentrate which was the mantra for the day “Relaxing helps reduce stress”. Then Dr. Neelam explained various facts about stress & how to manage it with the help of P.Pt, video & yogic pranayams. Dr. Srivastava also explained about eustress & distress. She also explained different symptoms of stress – headaches, hypertension, heart problems (palpitations), fatigue, gastrointestinal problems, sleep disturbance, anxiety etc. She further added that Stress can have consequences far beyond temporary feelings of pressure. While you can’t avoid stress, you can learn to manage it and develop skills to cope with the events or situations you find stressful. By learning to cope with stress, and by recognizing the symptoms of depression and the warning signs of suicide, you’ll be better prepared to help not only yourself, but also friends, fellow students, and the Soldiers you will someday lead.

Following were the tips given by Dr. Neelam Srivastava on how to maintain a healthier lifestyle and to prepare you to cope with the stress of everyday living.


  • Structure each day to include a minimum of 20 minutes of aerobic exercise.
  • Eat well-balanced meals, more whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
  • Substitute fruits for desserts.
  • Avoid caffeine.
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep.
  • Spend time each day with at least one relaxation technique – imagery, daydreaming, prayer, yoga or meditation. All of the above tips given in the session seemed very useful and efficient to reduce the stress.

SEMINAR ON VALUE EDUCATION

Value education means teaching and learning of in deals. In today’s world there is crime increasing day by day instead of literacy rate. The purpose of value education is the development of the personality of the students. Citing this importance of value education a guest lecture was held in Ram Chameli Chadha Vishvas Girls College Ghaziabad by Dr. M.S. Sharma (principle of Ingraham School) He told about the moral and spiritual values. Students should develop in all dimensions so that they can serve the nation more democratic , cohesive , socially and responsibly. The way of thinking & living should be developing at the democratic level. Values helps in understanding things better and more precisely. In the end of the event vote of thanks was given by Dr. Namita Sharma (HOD) she said that his valuable suggestions would prove very beneficial for students’ future life. Whole event was completed very successfully with the contribution of all faculty members. Approx 62 students attended this informative session successfully.


Webinar on ‘’legal and psychological counseling to female students’’

The focus of the speaker was on interpreting the legal provisions in a manner to protect girl’s rights and provide simple solutions to the problems faced by girls. She also defines section 354, 352, 376 etc. This event spread awareness about mental health and taught how to deal with such issues of mental well being. The symptoms of mental distraction are- self harm, lack of interest in daily life, suicidal thoughts, lack of self care, inability to sleep. The webinar concluded with interpreting the positive meaning from negative words. My attitude for 2020 –

FAIL –First attempt in leaving
NO- New opportunity
FEAR- Face everything and rise
END- effort never dies
and at last speaker solved student queries efficiently.
