Event :

Teaching learning material (TLM) stands for instructional material. It is any material used by the teacher to enhance their teaching to be more comprehensive and effective in the classroom also be animate and inanimate teaching learning material can be easily bought or made by the teacher or students

Keeping this mind RCCV Girls college, organized workshop on Teacher Learning Material recently at the campus by Ms. Rajneesh kaur (Asst. Prof. Chet Ram College of Education.) The objective of the workshop was to orient teacher trainees and develop appropriate context-specific teaching-learning materials which can be used to enhance the quality of the teaching-learning process. Addressing the gathering, Principal, RCCV Girls College Ghaziabad said that few of the possible hurdles that teachers face in doing the activities are – lack of material, lack of confidence, fear of an experiment failing in front of students etc. To overcome these we thought of conducting this TLM workshop. where we provide the material, and the space for experimentation and teamwork. The teacher trainees learn working in teams as well as benefit from the models prepared by other teacher trainees, she added. The teacher trainees’ team learnt quite a bit through this workshop. The key learning is that experiments have to be done and the learning we gain especially when things do not turn out the way it is stated in the textbooks is of incomparable value. Teacher trainees also presented the papers on teaching learning material and explained the importance of teaching learning material in real teaching, how effectively we can use these, what are the characteristics of it, how it makes teaching process as effective. The whole session proved very interesting, useful and knowledgeable for training teachers. The workshop was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Neelam Srivastava.

Micro Teaching play an important role in B.Ed. It is used mainly to modify Pupil-teachers behavior during teaching practice session .So a workshop on Micro Teaching was organized on 11/11/2019 by Dr. Neetu Chawla, (Principal RCCV). In this workshop she emphasized on various skill of micro teaching such as Set induction, Probing question ,Explanation, Illustration and Stimulus variation. She discussed about the components of various skills and demonstrated also.

In this era of rapid globalization and modernization, people have become the victims of materialistic desires and attitudes leading to a loss of basic values. The same shift is being observed in the teaching . Recently there has been a sudden increase in the teacher education institution in various states of India that has no doubt led to wealth of educational options in remote areas for all however it has also resulted in dilution of quality, infrastructure, human resource etc, along with an absence of professional ethics. As teacher are preparing teachers of tomorrow there is a need for them to demonstrate professional ethics to inculcate values in the society at large. This code of professional ethics may be defined as a set of self imposed professional ideals and principles necessary for the attainment of professional excellence and self-satisfaction.

To inculcate these professional values in would be teachers R.C.C.V. Girls College B.Ed. department organized a guest lecture on 18/2/2020 the topic “Professional Ethics” by Dr. Sandeep Gupta (Principal Ramjas Sr. Sec. School Delhi). In the beginning of the program Dr. Namita Sharma (H.O.D) of B. Ed. department welcomed to the chief guest Dr.Sandeep Gupta. After this, He told about the qualities of teachers in very simple words, he also told that to become a successful teacher, it is necessary for the teacher to have patience, kindness, contentment, friendly behavior, discipline and complete knowledge of his/her subject. At the end of the program, Dr. Neelam Srivastava given thanks to the chief guest for giving all the valuable information. All the teachers played an important role in the conduct of this program.

REPORT :

'Mental Health is as important as Physical health'
Mental health now days is an important issue that needs to be addressed among every individual. In order to bring awareness among the students and staff about the same, RCCVG B.Ed. college Organised Online guest lecture on ‘Mental Well Being In Times of COVID-19’ by Dr. Nidhi Arora an eminent doctor. In the beginning of this special lecture Dr. Neetu Chawla Principal of RCCVG College welcomed Dr. Nidhi Arora. Then Dr. Neelam Srivastava Assistant Professor RCCVG B.Ed. department briefed about Dr. Nidhi Arora’s achievements.

The Objective of the event was to enhance awareness of the students about importance of mental health more so in these trying times, where people have been kind of socially cut off from each other. To provide them practical tips on how to cope and find solutions to problems.

Dr. Nidhi Arora talked about avoiding and going into unnecessary details of negative news around us. She stressed on avoiding magnifying problems beyond proportions of control as she said it’s not just physical pandemic that we are facing but a parallel mental pandemic going on across the world. She also talked about eustress (positive stress) and distress (negative stress) where one is in a dangerous zone and needs help. She talked about preventive steps and enjoying the journey of life. She gave many real-life examples to put across her point. She stressed that when people look for blaming others, playing self-victimization, in that case one starts feeling helpless and all sorts of negative thoughts start creeping in mind. Dr. Nidhi discussed about various forms of Mental problems along with its symptoms. She further stressed on the management strategies on how to tackle these Mental problems in our daily life.

Dr. Nidhi talked about the importance of sleeping in time as it helps in rejuvenation, and building the immune system. She asked everyone to follow biological rhythm of the body which should be in sync with that of the environment. The session ended with question-and-answer session from the audience. Total 110students and faculties attended the session.

Dr. Namita Sharma (HOD) of RCCVG B.Ed. extended the vote of thanks at the end of the lecture. This report is compiled by Dr. Neelam Srivastava.
